This view of the North Gate in Mozia is particularly important because the tree

on the right has been blown away by a storm just before the end of the 20th century

From here a stone carriage way (now under water) was used to carry the dead inhabitants

to the mainland, when the old cemetery (still visible) was no longer sufficient

 

 

 

The "Young Man" found in Mozia 1980 escavations by Prof Gioacchino Falsone

and his team - often with the Crystallographers on the island - which is the subject

of great disputes between Archaeologists, about its origin,

its representation, its significance in the Mozia history.
