| 1. Arrival (on May 31). All participants should arrive in Erice on May 31, 2012, before 20:00. However, there is a large tolerance for unforeseen delays and we can assure that all scheduled (according to the partecipants MyErice pages) airport arrivals on May 31 will be met by somebody. Accommoda 2. In order to facilitate transportation to Erice (see point 3), please, try to arrange your travel plans so that you arrive at Palermo airport (arrival hall) on May 31 before 17.00. In the airport, look for the orange dressed organizers or for people (the Majorana Center drivers) waiving the course announcement. 3. Free transportation to Erice (see image) from Palermo and Trapani airports will be available for all arrivals on May 31. The transportation will be organized using the travel information that every participant should have posted on the MyErice web page. Transfers outside these dates will be charged to the participant. 4.
There will be no pick-up for early arrivals (for example, people travelling to Palermo ahead of the meeting) or at the Palermo rail station. However, transportation will be available for anybody arriving at Palermo airport before 17:00 on May 31, provided they specified their plans in the 5. Arrival Data. All lecturers and selected applicants must enter all travel information in the MyErice webpage before May 15, 2012 in order to obtain assistance. 6. Anyone who cannot fit into the above pattern should contact Annalisa well in advance to arrange for transportation. Alternatively, anyone is welcomed to make his/her own way to Erice, although travelling to Erice on public transportation can be tricky. Travelling by taxis can get very expensive: 120 Euro for the Palermo airport to Erice tract, or approximately 50 Euro for the Palermo city to airport tract. 7. In case of travel related emergency, please contact the Ettore Majorana Center: From Italy: 0923 869 133; from 8. Erice roads are narrow so people arriving with the buses organized by the Course will be dropped at Porta Trapani. The drop-off point is outside the town walls, and there is a ~200 yards walk UP to the Majorana Centre. Upon leaving the bus, please check if your baggage (which will be clearly labeled) is present. Cars are banned from the town centre: if you travel by car, parking is allowed in Viale Pepoli. DO NOT leave any item in the car. 9. Return journey. Bus transport to Palermo airport and Trapani airport will be arranged at no cost only for those leaving Erice on June 10, 2012. Individual plans on different dates will also be assisted, but transfer charges will be applied. Early flight departures from Palermo (6:15 a.m.) will be assisted as well. It will be possible to catch an early flight if you are ready to leave Erice two hours before aircraft departure. Be sure to have an alarm clock with you.
