1. Accommodation for participants consists mainly of rooms with two beds and shower and is located in the Istituto San Rocco, Via Guarnotta 26, Erice, 91016 Trapani (tel. +39 0923 869 133, fax 869 226 attention Crystallography). As prior to the meeting there is no certainty Indeed, additional rooms can also be obtained either in restored convents, such as S. Francesco and S. Domenico, or in Edelweiss, Elimo, Pineta, Ulisse camere and Hotel S.Lucia.. IMPORTANT : Lecturers and senior participants have priority in the assignment of the few single rooms available. 2. The Course fee 1,200 Euro covers board and lodging from the evening of June 3rd to the morning of June 13th, 2010. Rooms are equipped with towels and soap, and with European type outlet shaving points (220 V). Washing machines are also freely available.
4. Accompanying persons will be charged
100 Euro per day per person (no advance payment is necessary but no
credit cards are accepted by the local bureaucracy). This sum covers
also the cost of the course excursions and social events (no formal dress
required) during the meeting. Accompanying persons should read the full
set of information, particularly point 7. below. Please be warned that
most children do not like Erice. 5. There is a bus link between Trapani Rail Station and Erice. As you leave the train station. the bus end-stop is 100 yards on your left. The simple Italian question "Autobus per Erice ?" (pronounce as "outoboos") is normally understood by locals; the mature persons are not fluent in foreign languages. Afternoon departures to Erice are approximately every hour (every two hours on Sundays). Last bus at 17.30 (17.00 on Sundays). A telepheric cabin commutes along the mountain to the bottom, quite far from Trapani city center (i.e. the non-frequent bus or a taxi are needed) 6. Insurance. The Organizing Committee does not take any health or accident insurance for the participants in the Course, nor for accompanying members. The Organizing Committee does not assume any responsibility either in this context or for any other liability. 7. Miscellaneous news. High heeled
shoes are not convenient for walking along the Erice stony streets: sturdy
shoes are recommended for excursions. It is advisable to protect your
feet against cuts when swimming. Due to particular time of the year, someone
has in the past suffered of high pollen spring allergy. Participants and
accompanying persons are warned that the quality and quantity of social
life (don't expect night life in this corner of Sicily*, either in Erice
or in Trapani) depend solely on their own resources and initiative. Participants'
ability and skill in any sort of entertainement
will be fully exploited. |
